dr. sc. Ilija Barišić

Professor, author and critic

Ilija Barišić (Zagreb, 1981) graduated in Croatian Studies and History at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Zagreb, and at the same faculty he received his doctorate in 2017 with the topic Film Discourse in Video Games. Since 2010, he has been employed as a professor of the Croatian language in III. gymnasium in Zagreb. Since 2018, he has been teaching courses in the field of video games at VERN University, and since 2019 he has been teaching at the School of Media Culture "dr. Ante Peterlić", and from 2024 at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. In 2019, he published the book The Film Grammar of Video Games, for which the Croatian Society of Film Critics awarded him the "Ante Peterlić" Award in 2021. He was twice awarded by the Ministry of Education and Culture as one of the 500 most successful educators (in 2021 and 2022). He publishes scientific and professional articles in numerous magazines and regularly participates in scientific and professional meetings in Croatia and abroad. He is a member of the Croatian Society of Film Critics.
